Jeffrey Head, a double major in Advertising Design Print and Digital Media Communication at Texas State Technical College in Waco, wants his work to influence the masses. Billboards are his game, and his knowledge of Photoshop, flash, and graphic design will help him reach his dream. Working as a graphic design intern for TSTC Publishing, Jeffrey has a head start to achieve his goals.
The heavy metal fanatic plays a Washburn bass and in addition to rocking out on TSTC campus to live metal bands, he moshed to Pantera back in the ‘90s. An avid disc golf player, Jeffrey frequents disc golf courses around Waco. He hopes to land a job in Canada, a pretty happening place for graphic or advertising design and printing.
Head chose TSTC because his two favorite cousins are enrolled. His favorite advertisements are the “Don’t Mess with Texas” billboards and Geico commercials. “That gecko really cracks me up.” Upon asking which three people, living or dead, he would have dinner with, the Beeville native responded “Elvis, Abe Lincoln, and Johnny Depp.” While laughing at the zany antics of Jim Carrey and Saturday morning cartoons, he said the soundtrack of his life would be that of “Pulp Fiction.”
If given the opportunity to create his own cartoon, Head said he would create caricatures of his kids. “There would be Luke, a bipolar 9-year-old, Sammie the Seal, a 12-year-old who thinks he knows everything, and 4-year-old daughter, Goose, who is worse than both boys put together. Their hijinks would include everything from the sun up.”
